Louisiana Tech wins Cancun Challenge on incredible buzzer-beater

This has been a good night for buzzer-beaters.

Only about an hour after Providence broke the hearts of Rick Byrd fans everywhere, Louisiana Tech beat Evansville on a truly remarkable shot.

The Bulldogs trailed by a point in the final seconds when Jalen Harris hoisted an airball on a three. Somehow, Jacobi Boykins found the ball, saved it before it went out, and found Derric Jean. Jean then took a step back and nailed a three just before the buzzer, giving Louisiana Tech a 63-61 victory. He finished with 13 points off the bench while Daquan Bracey led the Bulldogs with 17 points.

The Bulldogs are now 5-0 and champions of the Cancun Challenge Riviera Division. The competition steps up next week, however, when they visit Collin Sexton and Alabama.
