Monday Preview: Monmouth, Sun Belt logjam among league leaders in action

It’s Monday and there’s basketball. Need we say more?

Here are the games and story lines to follow, along with all of your watching/streaming needs:

Monmouth at Siena | 7:00 PM ET | ESPN3

The Hawks have had two of their worst offensive performances the past two games, and gotten an uncharacteristically quiet game from either Justin Robinson or Micah Seaborn in each. Yet Monmouth has been able to survive, winning close games at Rider and Manhattan. The road swing continues in Albany, as Siena and Monmouth meet for the first time this year. Another off-night could sink the Hawks against a balanced Saints team, leaving a shred of daylight for Iona in the MAAC regular season race. Chris Brady will be pivotal for Monmouth as Siena has feasted on the offensive glass in league play.

The hashtag is no lie. With just three weeks left in the regular season, six teams can realistically dream of a title. Three of the four teams (effectively) tied atop the league hit the road Monday night, leaving the potential for even more chaos.

• Arkansas State faces the league’s most efficient defense in San Marcos. A win by Texas State puts the 7-4 Bobcats right in the mix. (Arkansas State at Texas State | 8:00 PM ET | Spectrum Sports Texas)
• Georgia Southern got a fast-paced 92-88 win the first time out against Appalachian State. The 2-10 Mountaineers are coming off an upset win against Georgia State that the Panthers may end up cursing. Will the Eagles have similar regrets? (Georgia Southern | 7:00 PM ET | ESPN3)
• Coastal Carolina has won three of four, including against UT-Arlington and, most recently, Georgia Southern. Beating a reeling Georgia State team would give the Chanticleers long-shot bid for the title more momentum. (No TV/streaming)
