If you missed the end of the UT-Arlington vs. Georgia State game, you missed an epic three-pointer by junior guard Erick Neal that won the game for the Mavericks, 68-67.

UT-Arlington had trailed almost the entire game and were in danger of dropping out of first place in the Sun Belt until Neal pulled off the last-second heroics under heavy pressure.
The win now firmly entrenches the Mavericks in first place in the Sun Belt, ahead of Arkansas State and Georgia Southern. UT Arlington also has some big non-conference wins, including road victories over Saint Mary’s and Texas.
After stumbling in mid-January, UT Arlington has now won eight out of nine, and has plenty of momentum heading down the stretch in the regular season. If the Mavericks can hold on to first place, they will be the top seed in the Sun Belt Tournament, beginning March 8 in New Orleans.
