The Gonzaga Bulldogs (32-1) were given the top seed in the NCAA Tournament West Region and will face the South Dakota State Jackrabbits in the first round in Salt Lake City on Thursday. The exact game time will be announced later tonight.

The Jackrabbits won the automatic bid out of the Summit League and was given the 16 seed for their hard work.

Gonzaga’s resume includes two RPI top-10 wins (Florida and Arizona), and three more within the top 25 (Saint Mary’s three times). Iowa State, Akron, BYU, Tennessee, and San Francisco (twice) all rank as RPI top 100 wins.

The Zags’ lone loss this season came against BYU, 79-71, in the regular season finale.

This is Gonzaga’s 19th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and 20th overall. During that time, the Zags have been a 1 seed just once, in 2013. Redshirt senior center Przemek Karnowski was a freshman on that team, and is currently one win shy of tying Duke’s Shane Battier (133) for most wins in NCAA Division I history.
