Gonzaga fans, welcome back to familiar and nauseating territory.
Soon, your Bulldogs will face Xavier in the Elite Eight, with both teams looking for their first-ever trip to the Final Four.
You guys have been here before. First it was in 1999, when just getting to the tournament was a thrill. You earned your glass slipper by beating Minnesota, Stanford, and Florida, before falling to the eventual champions from Storrs.
It took 16 years for you to get back, and when you did, you came just short again. After cruising through three rounds and picking up wins over powers Iowa and UCLA, it was again the eventual champs (Duke) who sent you packing.
In between, there have been a bunch of other close calls, including five other trips to the Sweet 16.
Now is your chance to finally get over the hump. To finally put an end to all the talk about choking, about playing too soft a schedule, about not being able to clash with the big boys.
