Gonzaga and Xavier played an insanely fun first half of basketball Saturday evening in the Elite Eight, and it almost ended in the most remarkable way imaginable.
First, the part that counted.
With Gonzaga up eight with 15 seconds left in the half, Trevon Bluiett missed a jumper from just beyond the foul line. Johnathan Williams went for the rebound but somehow was unable control the ball, which hit the ground hard, bounced back up and...went through the basket.

Officially, RaShid Gaston got credit for the basket because sure, why not?
Williams-Goss quickly made up for it by scoring with two second left to put Gonzaga up by 10. J.P. Macura had to force up a full-court shot. It went in, because of course it did.

Upon further review, the shot was waved off, but what a way to end the half for Xavier.
Gonzaga is now 20 minutes from its first-ever trip to the Final Four and no sir we’re not nervous, not at all*.
*we’re freaking out.
