As we near the NBA Draft, the annual Portsmouth Invitational Tournament kicks off with 64 college seniors looking to improve their stock in front of pro scouts. One of two pre-draft camps, the PIT has traditionally given off-the-radar players an opportunity to showcase their skills against similar talent. Notable tournament alumni who used the event as a springboard include Kent Bazemore (Old Dominion), Robert Covington (Tennessee State), and JJ Barea (Northeastern).
This year’s participants, divided into eight teams that compete in a three-day tournament, include some notable players from mid-major conferences:
