NCAA Basketball: Furman at Villanova Derik Hamilton-USA TODAY Sports

The Southern Conference is perhaps the most interesting league in the country this year, so it helps that we have walking SoCon encyclopedia John Hooper on staff.

I caught up with John and discussed all things SoCon, starting at the top with nationally ranked Furman. Is John surprised that the Palladins are unbeaten with a win at Villanova? Well, yeah of course. But shocked? Maybe not. John also talked to Jordan Lyons and Furman coach Bob Richey about Furman’s rise and I included the highlights in here.

Later on, we tackle Wofford and UNC Greensboro — the other two main contenders in the SoCon race. Find out why they are so dangerous and why this conference isn’t just going to be a cakewalk for the Palladins.

If you’re at all interested in the SoCon, you’ll want to tune in to hear John talk a little bit of everything in the conference. You’ll learn a lot. I know I did.
