Every Canadian player in the 2018 NCAA Tournament

Here is the complete list of Canadians playing in the NCAA Tournament

The field has been set for the 2018 NCAA Tournament.

Last year, there were 22 Canadians who played in the NCAA tournament. That number has decreased this season but it may be the last time it decreases for many years to come with the abundance of talent from north of the border heading south to play their college basketball.

Here is the complete list of Canadians on the rosters of teams that will compete in the NCAA tournament in 2018.

Mid-Major Players:

Aher Uguak - Loyola-Chicago - 6’7 So. F. Edmonton, AB. Did not play this year due to NCAA rules after transferring from New Mexico.

Nolan Narain - San Diego State - 6’10 So. F - Hamilton, ON. 4.7 PPG, 2.0 RPG. Played in 23 games for the Aztecs this year. Originally played at Sir Allan MacNab HS before transferring to La Lumiere (Indiana) for his senior year of high school.

Kimbal Mackenzie - Bucknell - 6’1 Jr. G - Oakville, ON. 7.9 PPG, 2.2 APG. Played in 23 games for Bucknell this season. Played in NCAA Tournament last year and was All-Patriot League in 2016-17.

Jelani Mofford - UNC Greensboro - 6’5 Jr. F - Mississuaga, ON. Only played one game this season. Played for Orangeville Prep before UNC Greensboro.

Jackson Rowe - Cal State Fullerton - 6’7 So. F. Toronto, ON. 12.2 PPG. Started all 30 games. 2017 Big West Conference Freshman of the Year.

Nelson Kaputo - St. Bonaventure - 6’0 Jr. G. Toronto, ON. 3.3 PPG. Played in 31 games this year for the Bonnies. Led St. Mike’s to two Ontario Championships. Played AAU with Dillon Brooks.

Jalen Poyser - St. Bonaventure - 6’4 Jr. G. Toronto, ON. Did not play this year due to NCAA rules after transferring from UNLV.

Dominic Johnson - Buffalo - 6’5 Fr. G. Windsor, ON. Played in nine games after joining the team late in the season. Also plays QB for Buffalo football team.

Brandon Clarke - Gonzaga - 6’8 Jr. F Vancouver, BC. Did not play this year due to NCAA rules after transferring from San Jose State.

Power Conference Players:

Emmanuel Akot - Arizona - 6’7 Fr. G - Winnipeg, MB. 1.9 PPG, 1.1 RPG. Played in 30 games with four starts for Arizona. Played for Canada at U17 level.

Eliel Nsoseme - Cincinnati - 6’9 Fr. F/C - Kinasha, Congo. Played in 27 games and averaged 1.0 point per game. Born in Congo but emigrated to Canada and played at TRC Academy.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander - Kentucky - 6’6 Fr. G. Hamilton, ON. 13.9 PPG, 3.9 RPG. 5.0 APG. Second Team All-SEC and All-SEC Freshman Team.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker - Virginia Tech - 6’5 Fr. G. Toronto, ON. 10. 5 PPG and 3.9 RPG. Cousins with Kentucky’s Gilgeous-Alexander.

Mfiondu Kabengele - Florida State - 6’9 Fr. F. - Burlington, ON. 7.1 PPG. 4.5 RPG. 2018 ACC All-Academic Team. Nephew of NBA Hall of Famer Dikembe Mutombo.

Kalif Young - Providence - 6’9 So. F. - Vaughan, ON. 4.4 PPG, 4.1 RPG. Played at Orangeville Prep.

Christian David - Butler - 6’6 Fr. G. - Milton, ON. 1.2 PPG. Highly recruited out of high school and was ranked No. 82 by ESPN and No. 93 by Rivals.

Kyle Alexander - Tennessee - 6’11 Jr F. Scarborough, ON. 5.6 PPG, 4.3 RPG. Played with NBA’s Jamal Murray for two years at Orangeville Prep. Father Joseph played at Niagara.

Oshae Brissett -Syracuse - 6’8 Fr. F Mississauga, ON.14.8 PPG, 8.8 RPG, ACC All-Freshman Team. Played at Athlete Institute with fellow Cuse player Howard Washington.

Howard Washington - Syracuse - 6’3 Fr. G. - Buffalo, NY. 1.1 PPG. Played in 18 games before a knee injury ended his season in late January. Holds dual citizenship between Canada and the U.S.

Elijah Mitrou-Long - Texas - 6’0 Jr. G - Toronto, ON. - Did not play this year due to NCAA rules after transferring from Mount Saint Mary’s. Played in NCAA last year vs. Villanova. Brother Naz played at Iowa State.

Gabe Osabuohien - Arkansas 6’8 Fr. F Toronto, ON. Played in 16 games for the Razorbacks and averaged 1.4 PPG. Played at Southwest Christian Academy (Ark.).

Kassius Robertson - Missouri - 6’3 Sr. G. Toronto, ON. Roberston was a graduate transfer from Canisus who was named a first team All-SEC after leading Missouri. He averaged 16.6 points per game this season and was named Canadian Player of the Year and first team All-Canadian.

Isiah Jasey - Texas A&M - 6’10 Fr. F. Ottawa, ON. Played in 13 games for the Aggies. Father served in U.S Army.
