Now that the commotion has (mostly) settled about the NCAA Tournament bracket reveal, it’s time for the after-party: revealing the 2018 National Invitation Tournament bracket.
To Saint Mary’s, Vermont and Middle Tennessee fans: fear not! All three teams are included in the NIT field (and have rather favorable draws). On the bright side, the nation has at least one more chance to see three of the best under-heralded teams in college basketball play on national television. Not only that, the NIT is often used as a stepping stone to future tournament appearances (shouts to UNC Greensboro, San Diego State, Charleston, Davidson and St. Bonaventure, who returned players from NIT teams to earn NCAA bids this season).
