Plenty of teams have punched their tickets into the NCAA Tournament, but what about those left outside of the field? Some of those teams are mid-majors who won their regular season championships but fell short in the conference tournament — Vermont and Louisiana among them. With regular season champions receiving automatic bids to the NIT, it offers good mid-major programs a chance to play postseason basketball, with the possibility to play in Madison Square Garden in the semifinals and the championship game.
For many fan bases, the NIT will be the Selection Show they will glue their eyes to. Here’s how you can watch or stream it live after the NCAA Tournament field is announced:
