This year’s mess of an Ivy League regular season has come to an end, and Penn and Harvard finished the season in a tie for first place. Because the Crimson beat Yale twice, they will be the 1 seed in the four-team tournament, but the Quakers have home court advantage as Ivy Madness returns to the Palestra for its second year.
If seeds hold, those two will face each other at noon on Selection Sunday for a spot in the NCAA Tournament. But first, both will need to get past their semifinal opponents. Harvard draws 4 seed Cornell, which finished under .500 in the conference and lost to the Crimson twice — though one of those games was by three and the other was in double overtime.
As for Penn, it will get 3 seed Yale. The Bulldogs took down the Quakers by one on Friday night, then wrapped up the regular season by ending Princeton’s tournament hopes in overtime on Saturday.
