JIMMERRRRRR
I yelled this a few times while watching Team Fredette defeat the Fort Wayne Champs, 104-91 on Friday Night in the Super 16 of The Basketball Tournament.
Last TBT, Jimmer Fredette was a coach and now he’s back on the court. On Friday night, he proved why his return was worth it, as he dropped a scorching 41 points in a dominating fashion.
But Jimmer and his squad started slowly. They shot 42 percent on 9 of 21 shooting in the first quarter. Fort Wayne shot a solid 69.2 percent on 9 of 13 shooting. They attempted 16 free throws in the first quarter, making 12 of them.
Things did not go well at all and Fort Wayne was looking solid, leading 34-20 after the first period.
Then Jimmer became Jimmer and Fort Wayne had to deal with it.

In 36 minutes of play, Jimmer scored 41 points with six threes and nine made free throws. And when Jimmer wasn’t scoring, Jeff Ledbetter added 17 points with five three-pointers. They were truly the splash brothers, shooting from everywhere they saw fit.
They scored 35 and 34 points as a team in the second and third quarters respectively. With the Elam Ending in effect all tournament, the final target score was set at 104, and, naturally, Team Fredette ended the game after a three-pointer.
Overall, Fort Wayne played a good one, but they were just overpowered by Fredette and Ledbetter’s shooting.
Team Fredette will face 1 seed Scarlet and Grey in the quarterfinals of the TBT on Sunday.
