The Other Top 25: Wofford and Lipscomb continue their climb

New Mexico State also cracks the top 10.

Mitchell Northam, Mid-Major Madness

As we near closer and closer to Selection Sunday, we’re beginning to paint a clearer picture of who’s a real at-large candidate and who isn’t.

Two teams that are very clear candidates are Wofford and Lipscomb, who both claim top 5 spots in this week’s Other Top 25. Wofford is coming off of a huge road win over ETSU in OT, while Lipscomb roll through the ASUN ahead of a rematch with Liberty this week.

Elsewhere in the rankings, New Mexico State checks in at the back end of the top 10 following a big road win over Grand Canyon. Once again, the WAC title goes through Las Cruces.

Gonzaga and Nevada kept their stranglehold over the top two spots, but made headlines by being included in the Selection Committee’s bracket reveal over the weekend. Gonzaga was tabbed as the No. 1 seed (4th overall) in the West while Nevada was given a No. 4 seed (14 overall) in the South region.

Overall, the SoCon continued to produce quality teams at the top with four teams in the rankings this week.

Here’s the full poll:
