Dana Ford is 34 years old. He’s also on his second head coaching job and is about to enter his second season at Missouri State. His team should be the 2019-20 Missouri Valley Conference favorite.
Ford joined the Mid-Major Madness Coaches’ Show to talk about his meteoric rise through the coaching ranks, how he has used the transfer market to construct his 2019-20 team, and the challenges his conferences faces moving forward.
The Bears went 16-16 last year, but were 9-5 in the conference at one point before stumbling down the stretch. Leading scorer and rebounder Tulio da Silva is expected to return, along with Keandre Cook and a few impact transfers who will be immediately eligible. Ford now has the personnel to take Missouri State to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1999.

NOTE: Ford’s audio gets a little choppy at times. We apologize. Please bear with us as he is well worth it!
