The Utah Jazz have selected Mid-Major Madness unofficial site favorite Justin Wright-Foreman with the 53rd overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.
Wright-Foreman was one of the most prolific scorers in the country last season as he led Hofstra to a 27-8 record and spot in the NIT.
His numbers speak for themselves. As a senior, he posted 27.1 points per game and had three 40-plus-point games. Somehow, he scored in double figures in every game he played over his junior and senior seasons.
Though he was unable to lead the Pride to the NCAA Tournament, Wright-Foreman leaves Hofstra as one of the school’s all-time greats. His 2,327 career points is the second-most in school history and his 88-straight double-figure games is the seventh-longest streak in Division I history. He finished 2018-19 behind only Chris Clemons in scoring average. Wright-Foreman was the CAA Player of the Year as a junior and senior.
The highlight of his senior season came at home when he hit this ridiculous game-winner against Northeastern in a battle for first in the CAA:

And now Long Islanders have to stay up late to watch him on the west coast. It’ll be well worth it.
