How to watch the NIT Selection Show

The 16-team field will be unveiled Sunday night.

NCAA Basketball: NIT Final Wendell Cruz-USA TODAY Sports

OK so your team didn’t make the Big Dance. It’s fine to be sad about that. But if you were even close to the bubble, there’s still hope for you to watch your team play some postseason basketball. Shortly after CBS is done showing us the NCAA Tournament bracket, flip over to ESPNU to see which also-rans will make up the NIT field.

Like everything else in life, the NIT will look a little different this year as we try to play through the COVID-19 pandemic. The field will be cut in half, from 32 down to 16, and instead of playing games on campus sites and then Madison Square Garden, the whole thing will take place in north Texas.

University of North Texas (Denton, TX) and the Comerica Center in Frisco will split hosting duties and the entire thing will take place between March 17 and 28. The NIT is also bringing back the third-place game (I cannot possibly tell you why), which has not been played since 2003.

All that sound good to you? Great. Here’s how you can find out which teams make the field:
