One of the many cool things about the NCAA Tournament is that when an all-time historic moment happens, you know it right away. We had one of those moments Saturday night when Jalen Suggs nailed a three at the buzzer in overtime, to lift undefeated Gonzaga to a 93-90 win over UCLA.
UCLA erased a five-point deficit with less than a minute left in OT to put pressure on the top-ranked Bulldogs. The Bruins’ final basket of the game, to tie it, came from Johnny Juzang, who rebounded his own miss and laid it in with 3.3 seconds left. Rushing down the court and hoping to avoid a second extra session, Suggs let one fly from a few steps in front of half court.
Here’s the final sequence, in all its glory:

Gonzaga advances to the National Championship Game, where it will face Baylor on Monday night. It’s the matchup we’ve been hoping for all season long, and we get it because of Suggs’ historic moment.
