We continue our conference previews with the Missouri Valley Conference. Every week on Twitter, we host Spaces previewing two conferences streaming live from the Mid-Major Madness account (@mid_madness), speaking with media members and coaches throughout the selected league.

To open the conversation, Mid-Major Madness writer Nick Lorensen and guest-host Anthony Kristensen from Evansville’s Courier & Press recapped what happened in the Valley last season and so far this offseason. Joining the league are Belmont, Murray State and UIC. Leaving the league was last season's Arch Madness champion, Loyola (IL). The Ramblers were the only team from the league to make the NCAA Tournament.
There was also plenty of players who departed, making the Valley one of the most transfer-heavy leagues in the country. Some subtractions include Tank Hemphill (left Drake), Antonio Reeves (Illinois State), Tyreke Key (Indiana State), Isiaih Mosley (Missouri State), and AJ Green (Northern Iowa).
Evansville head coach David Ragland (17:00) then joined to speak about his first Division-I head coaching job. The Evansville native is tasked to completely rebuild a program that went 6-24 last season.
“It’s been competitive, it’s been fun, energetic,” Ragland said. “People have been supportive, the community has been great. Our campus community has been wonderful, accepting.”
The Purple Aces open their season on Nov. 7 at Miami (OH).
Anthony and Nick then continued the conversation by previewing every team in the league. To hear about your team, advance the recording to each time stamp.
