The Chicago State men’s basketball team, which still after all the conference realignment that is killing the Pac-12 (er, Pac-4 now) is without a full-time home, just made the news of the day in the college basketball world.
Did they get a coveted Big 12 invite? No.
Where they asked by San Diego State to maybe/kinda/sorta form a new power league? No.
Did they invent a cure for Jon Rothstein’s March insomnia? Sadly, no.
Did the Horizon League come to its senses and invite the Cougs? For some reason, still no.
Did I make the same joke about realignment three times already? Yes, I couldn’t help myself.
Did Chicago State land the two best recruits to ever grace the floor and dawn Cougars’ uniforms? Yes.

Cougars head coach Gerald Gillion and his staff secured commitments from Matt and Ryan Bewley, twins who were five-star recruits before taking their talents to Overtime Elite.
Jeff Goodman appeared to be the first major media member to catch wind of the announcement, which sparked a storm of sickos on Twitter advocating for everyone’s favorite historically bad team.
But, no longer.
The 2024 Chicago State at-large movement has begun. Please form an orderly line for your tickets to the Chicago State bandwagon.
