Have the Saint Louis Billikens found their man? According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Billikens have tapped Travis Ford as their next head coach to replace Jim Crews.
There has been no other confirmation though, but there are sources saying the Billikens are holding off officially until Vanderbilt completes their NIT run, so it looks as if they have done their due diligence pursuing Bryce Drew.
Ford was recently fired from Oklahoma State after leading the Cowboys to the NCAA Tournament five times in eight seasons. Before coming to Stillwater, he was the head coach at Massachusetts, Eastern Kentucky, and NAIA Campbellsville. He has a 334-262 mark all-time as a head coach but was just 63-80 in Big 12 play during his tenure at OSU.
Crews was fired at Saint Louis after back to back 11 win seasons. He did take the Billikens to two straight NCAA Tournaments using players largely inherited from Rick Majerus his first two years at the helm.
