Big South Quarterfinals: Asheville Gets by Radford 96-87

It was a scoring explosion in the HTC Center as D.J. Cunningham's monster double-double powered UNC Asheville past Radford.

When you think of the Big South and you think of scoring then usually you'll hear about VMI, VMI, and VMI. I think Andrew Rowsey and the Asheville Bulldogs might change, and well VMI is leaving...but anyways...

Radford and Asheville met up less than a month ago with Highlanders taking a 102-92 win despite 41 points from the Big South Freshman of the Year Rowsey.

It was a different story today as Asheville grabbed a 96-87 win with 27 points from Rowsey and 29 points from Big South Second Teamer Jaron Lane. Those two guards weren't even the most impressive Bulldogs though, as D.J. Cunningham posted 18 points and 19 boards in Asheville's win.

Rashun Davis came off the bench for Radford to lead the Highlanders with 22 points.

Asheville will now match up with division rival Winthrop tomorrow at noon on ESPN3. The Bulldogs split with Eagles twice this year but lost to them 107-100 in overtime just last week. The rubber match is sure to be exciting.
