Georgia Tech decided to move on from the Brian Gregory era on Friday after five seasons in Atlanta.  The Yellow Jackets made their first postseason appearance under Gregory this season and posted a 21 win season. He ends his tenure at Georgia Tech with a 76-86 mark but just a 27-61 record in the ACC.

Early rumblings from coaching circles are that the Yellow Jackets are set to target Charlotte head coach Mark Price. Price, a Georgia Tech alum and four-time NBA All-Star, just finished his first season at the helm for the 49ers and overachieved to the tune of a 14-19 record and a 9-9 mark in Conference USA. Price played three freshmen a lot of minutes this season in year one of his rebuild project.

Before coming to Charlotte, Price has served in several different coaching roles. He was a high school coach in the Atlanta area before becoming an assistant at Georgia Tech in 1999. Price then served as an assistant in the NBA for the Nuggets, Hawks, Warriors, Magic, and Hornets.

Price was a three-time all-ACC performer at Georgia Tech, and his number 25 is retired for the Yellow Jackets.
