Both OVC Players of the Year Headed to Atlanta

The top three point shooters in the OVC will participate in the Hampton Hotels 3-point contest on April 4th.

Jamie Rhodes-US PRESSWIRE

Murray State hasn't played a game since their heartbreaking overtime loss to Belmont in the OVC Championship on March 10th but Racernation has been receiving some good news this week.It started with Isaiah Canaan being named to the Lou Henson All-American Team. The announcement on Monday was just the beginning as news broke of the renewal of the SIU series and yesterday, Isaiah Canaan was officially chosen to participate in the Hampton Hotels 3-point contest in Atlanta the week of the Final Four.

Belmont's Ian Clark has also been selected. The OVC's best three point shooter will be tough to beat as he averaged 46% from three in the 2012-2013 season. One of the most smooth shooters in the country, Clark was also chosen to the Lou Henson All-American Team and is my pick to win the three point contest.

Now before all of Racernation is on my back let me say that if the two played one on one or if it were a half-court from your knees shooting contest I'm taking Isaiah Canaan. But after watching Clark torch teams with three after three in the regular season with guys guarding him, it makes it hard to bet against the 6-3 Memphis native.

Regardless of who wins it will be awesome for fans of both schools to see their stars competing on national television in their respective jerseys one last time.
