Eastern Kentucky Throttles #18 Miami 72-44

Eastern Kentucky snaps out of a terrible December by totally dominating Top 25 Miami on Friday night.

The fact the Eastern Kentucky Colonels pulled off an upset at Miami shouldn't be too surprising to anyone, but the fact they absolutely dominated the Hurricanes is quite the surprise. Jeff Neubauer's Colonels absolutely throttled the Hurricanes Friday night 72-44 in a game that they never trailed in.

Neubauer had a pretty clear cut game plan that paid off in Coral Gables:

"Our whole goal going into the game was there's no way we were going to allow Miami to get to 50. You can have 49 points but they're not getting 50. Somehow that came true here tonight." Neubauer said after the game.

Corey Walden lead the way for EKU with 18 points and  5 rebounds. Fellow senior Eric Stutz also had an impressive showing with 13 point, 5 rebounds, and 9 assists. Timmy Knipp and Isaac McGlone also finished in double-figures with 17 and 12 points respectively.

There really isn't that much more to say about this one since it was just complete and utter domination on the court. This was certainly a nice bounce back win for the Colonels who fell to East Tennessee State on Tuesday and came into Friday night's game losing four of their last five.

Eastern Kentucky will remain in south Florida for a Monday match up in Boca Raton against the Florida Atlantic Owls.
