The 'Dean of the OVC' returns for his 27th year as the Governors' head coach.

Austin Peay's dramatic run to an Ohio Valley Conference Tournament title earned veteran head coach Dave Loos another year at the helm of the OVC school. Loos whose contract had expired at the end of the season, took time to confer with Athletics Director Ryan Ivey and the two came to an agreement on Tuesday.

Loos will begin his 27th year on the Governors' side-line this fall. He has an OVC record 409 coaching victories and is tied for the most tournament titles with four.

APSU's improbable race to the championship earned the Governors a trip to the NCAA Tournament where they were eliminated in the opening round by Kansas. The Governors became the first eight seed to ever win 'Music City Madness'. They had to win their final two games of the regular season to earn their way into the OVC tournament.

The five-time OVC coach-of-the-year was granted a one year extension on his contract. While, Ivey believes Loos will be the APSU head coach for several more years, both men believe they should keep their situation more flexible than a multiple-year contract would allow.

Loos is 409-391 at Austin Peay and owns 491 collegiate coaching victories.
