Mid-Major Madness Freshman of the Week: Zac Seljaas, BYU Cougars

From seldom used to seldom misses, Zac Seljaas is snapping nets from 3-point range with abandon lately for BYU.

Jeff Swinger-USA TODAY Sports

For the first seven games of the year, Zac Seljaas averaged just more than eight minutes off the bench for BYU, but the last two games have been a different story.

Taking a bigger role in the rotation, Seljaas scored 18 points in 22 minutes at Colorado last Saturday. That was just a preview of what he would do this week.

In Friday night's game against Central Michigan, Seljaas would again come off the bench, this time playing 30 minutes. He scored 25 points in the 98-85 win, while shooting 9-for-13 from the floor. His biggest impact came from behind the 3-point line where he was 7-for-9 in the win.

He would add five rebounds, three assists and two steals to go along with the long-range performance.

For that sharp shooting effort, Zac Seljaas has been named our Mid-Major Madness Freshman of the Week.
