Mid-Major Madness Player of the Week: Cane Broome, Sacred Heart Pioneers

Sacred Heart kept pace in the Northeast Conference with two wins last week, thanks to Cane Broome.

Kamil Krzaczynski-USA TODAY Sports

Sacred Heart has been battling to keep pace with Wagner in the Northeast Conference, and needed both wins last week to match the results put up by the Seahawks. And they have Cane Broome to thanks for that.

In Thursday's 74-57 win over Bryant, Broome led the way, scoring 27 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. He was crucial during a 13-0 run by the Pioneers that helped put away the Bulldogs, scoring nine points during the streak. He also added four assists and had three steals in the win.

He followed that up Saturday with a career-high 39 points against Fairleigh Dickinson, to pull one game ahead of the Knights in the standings. During the win, he had four 3-pointers, and added six rebounds and six assists.

For his performance in keeping the Pioneers in the Northeast Conference race, Cane Broome is our Mid-Major Madness Player of the Week.
